Another beautiful Duane Noble creation!

This one was built in 2008 for a woman who used it in her Renaissance Fair performances.

It is inlaid with abalone at the end of the fretboard with her "stage name" Leather.  Her costume belt buckle scratched up the back a bit and wore off a spot of finish a bit under 2" in size.

The bridge separated (possibly from higher alternate tunings) on the bass side just the height of a sheet of paper, and she had it repaired by luthier Mark Simon in NJ (using hide glue).  She says the soundboard is flat and action is great.

Other than additional finish scratches around the back defect, it is in fine original shape.

I have not had the pleasure of playing or listening to this instrument, but of course have sampled and/or sold many of Duane's instruments...he's one of my favorite harp guitar builders!

The owner says "the tone is amazing and magnificent" which I would normally take with a grain of salt, as most every harp guitar owner says that about their instruments - but in this case, it's undoubtedly true, as that is generally a given with Duane's instruments.  It's just a matter of whether the maple back and sides and Sitka is to your liking.

Her photographs show the typical gorgeous detail and fit and finish of a Noble instrument.  The highlights on the top are camera glare.

Extras include a heavy duty Colorado Case gig bag (my Harp Guitar Music design) and a K&K sound system.  Specifically, "a K&K Sound dual pickup system with 3 transducers inside the sound hole under the bridge and an under-saddle pickup for the sub-bass strings. It has a stereo out that goes into an external preamp that you can attach to your belt."

This baby is ready to go!

Of course at any time down the road the back finish could be re-paired or re-done, and one could easily replace the inscription with something else if desired.  Duane would be willing to quote this (only after seeing it in person), as could many professional luthiers.  But for a savings of a few thousand dollars (Duane's HG base price is currently $10k), one should be tempted to ignore all that and get into a beautiful Noble now!

It will ship from the East Coast to your location (U.S. only) and you have my 48-hour approval period to check it out and presumably fall in love.  That's what Nobles are all about!
